Healthy Youth Education

The Council on Adolescents provides Healthy Youth Education Programs to more than 5,500 youth across Catawba County. In-school programs follow North Carolina's Healthy Youth Act requirements and Healthful Living Guidelines. This includes puberty education to 5th and 6th graders and reproductive health education to

7th-9th graders.

The Council's Programs are:

  • Provided by trained health educators.
  • Integrated, sequential, age-appropriate, medically accurate, and interactive.
  • Framed to present opportunities for open discussion between parents and their children.

Health Education Supervisor

Lisa Eaton

I started working at the Council in 2005 and currently serve as the Health Education Supervisor. I graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 1996. I believe COA is an amazing organization and am proud of the interactions, opportunities and education that we can provide for students in Catawba County. I am happily married with two amazing daughters. In my spare time, I enjoy being outside hiking, running and spending time with my family. If you need help with scheduling or have any questions about our in school programs, please do not hesitate to contact me.
